Real-World Rehab Feedback: Toller Brand Harnesses in Action

At Toller Brand, nothing makes us prouder than seeing our gear put to the test in real-world settings. Especially when it’s used by professionals who are deeply committed to canine wellbeing.

Recently, we had the privilege of providing one of our harnesses to the rehabilitation department of Canada West Veterinary Specialists for trial use. We’ve just received an update from their team, and we’re grateful to be able to share some highlights from their experience. (Shared with permission and a special thank you to their team for also allowing us to feature the included photos!)

From day one, the harness has been getting regular use in a range of rehabilitation sessions on dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. As their team shared:

“It’s been holding up amazingly well with regular use on all sorts of pups big, small, wide, and narrow! We’ve cinched it down to fit a wiggly Border Collie puppy and expanded it all the way up to accommodate a chubby Rottweiler.”

The team noted that while the harness is a particularly good fit for broader-chested dogs, it’s been surprisingly adaptable overall. For narrower builds, they observed that the fit may affect front limb extension so they’ve opted not to use it in those specific cases, tailoring their approach to each patient’s needs.

One feature that stood out was the built-in handle, which has proven useful during balance and treadmill sessions:

“The handle has been a game-changer for supporting patients during balance exercises and treadmill sessions. Plus, the wide chest plate has been fantastic for dispersing pressure when we need to provide extra lift. Such a thoughtful design!”

The durability of the harness also held up to their expectations, even under water:

“The neoprene has been holding up beautifully in the underwater treadmill despite regular exposure to chlorine (no discoloration or wear in sight)! The buckles are still looking great and working perfectly too, even with all the action they’ve seen.”

Their only suggestion? Adding a neck clip for dogs who may be sensitive to having gear slipped over their heads (a note we’ve taken on board as we continue to refine our products).

Most importantly, we’d like to highlight that this harness is used specifically within the hospital’s rehabilitation department, and not across all clinical areas. Different equipment is used for different purposes throughout the hospital, and we appreciate the team’s transparency in clarifying this.

We’re even hearing some wonderful stories trickling back from those who’ve tried it out in their own homes.

And of course, we couldn’t resist sharing a few pictures of their patients rocking their workouts (all shared with approval). These include some very dedicated staff pets and one particularly photogenic, Instagram-famous bulldog.

Thank you to the entire team for putting our product through its paces in such a thoughtful and purposeful way. Your feedback helps us grow, and your work continues to inspire.
